I’m proud of Eugene Jackson! And they couldn’t have picked a better actor to represent him… His name will be in our memories now.

Eugene Jackson was 20 years old. He lied about his age when he joined the Army at 16. His family, I’m sure, got a telegram saying he died a hero on a mission that would help win the war. In reality, he died on a stretcher in a dank basement in Hagenau, crying out in agony as his friends looked on helplessly. Just another casualty in a war that was supposed to be all but over.

I was very moved with that scene too. It took a while after the episode to pull myself together. Andrew was so great.. he made the memory of the real Jackson unforgettable! Band of Brothers 1x08
Since finding out Andrew Lee Potts was in Band of Brothers, I’ve been searching my mind, trying to remember who he played. Turns out he was Private Jackson in “The Last Patrol.” It’s unfortunate what happened to his character though. (The scene the second cap is from always has me tearing up.)
